Eldora (Dougherty) and Floyd Matthews purchased the property adjacent to Eldora’s family home on Edgewood Drive, formerly Highway 112. She grew up in a tiny house with her parents, sister, and seven brothers.  Eldora has always loved plants and pets and had a natural 'green thumb.' Today she still works in her 48-foot greenhouse at her home that is filled with every type of plant imaginable. Eldora has also raised cockatiels, button quail, hamsters and many other small pets throughout the years.

 

Airport Garden Center opened for business in 1977 as a pet, plant, and feed store. Floyd retired from driving logging trucks to help with the business.  All three of their sons have worked at the garden center.  Mark and his wife Betsy, purchased the business in 1995 and Pat joined them in 1999.

Today, Airport Garden Center is still owned by the Matthews' family and dedicated to providing customers with quality service and products of value. We strive to deliver a fun, rewarding, pet and child-friendly shopping atmosphere.
